"The new
Alderbrook
is poised to become the Pacific Northwest's premier destination resort "
For
the past several months, local Mason County residents have been alternately
amazed, excited and impressed with the extensive remodeling of Alderbrook
Resort on Hood Canal's South Shore in Union. The new Alderbrook, which will
preserve its historical essence of "the spirit of Hood Canal," is poised to
become the Pacific Northwest's premier destination resort for the leisure
visitor, as well as serving as a first-class conference and retreat center.
The resort is expected to be open and ready for visitors by June 2004.

In addition to the creation of new four-star luxury accommodations, road crews
have been busy literally moving State Route 106 into the hillside above
Alderbrook. The entire resort is now situated on the "water side" of the
highway.
Old Road

This
spectacular undertaking is nearing completion with the new stretch of road
already open. Total cost for the resort's remodel and highway relocation is
simply unfathomable!
New Highway
"As Hood Canal's beautiful
saltwater beckons in the foreground, the majestic Olympic Mountains provide
a scenic backdrop that takes your breath away."
"Gary
Oliver, Director of Sales and Marketing for Alderbrook", has been overseeing
the project since it began. "In three months, it is absolutely amazing what
has been accomplished. People who have known this resort in the past will
recognize that the essence of what was, what will be and what will continue
has been preserved … and that is the spirit of Hood Canal." Less than
a scant two hours from Seattle, Alderbrook is a world away from the
everyday. As Hood Canal's beautiful saltwater beckons in the foreground, the
majestic Olympic Mountains provide a scenic backdrop that takes your breath
away.

"The landmark hotel"
will offer 77 guest rooms and 17 two-bedroom cottages. Exquisite
accommodations will complement the area's natural beauty with an
unpretentious, warm and genial hospitality wrapped in a new era of luxury.
"The Spa at
Alderbrook" will offer
a complete range of signature treatments for body, mind and spirit in a
unique environment. Soothing touches, refreshing aromas and cleansing
lotions will entice visitors and provide the perfect complement to a
relaxing day on
Hood Canal. An indoor swimming pool,
jacuzzi, fitness center, steam room and dry sauna are also planned.
If you are a waterfront owner on
Hood Canal,
soon you will once again be able to cruise to Alderbrook in your boat and
enjoy an elegant dinner or a glass of wine with friends on the outdoor deck.
Alderbrook's 1500-linear foot dock will accommodate several massive yachts
... or hundreds of dingies. Like the Alderbrook of old, the more the
merrier, because the new dock will enable boats to moor side by side, in
"raft" fashion. If 100, 30-foot Criscrafts arrived, Alderbrook could moor
them all!
"The new restaurant and bar"
will feature fresh local seafood along with a selection of other Northwest
culinary favorites. Outdoor dining on the green will entice visitors and
local boaters to motor the canal with Alderbrook as the dining destination.
Additional resort amenities will include full-service meeting and banquet
facilities and catering.
Above the hillside, the "Alderbrook Golf &
Yacht Club's 18-hole PGA course" is ranked among the best in the
Northwest. The Championship rated course is a 6,338 yard par 72 and is
professionally maintained and open to the public year-round. The course
plays through the Alderbrook residential community resulting in 18 unique
and diverse challenges, including its infamous 8th hole, a double dogleg,
536 yard par 5.
Adding to the scenic views of
Hood Canal
will be the revitalized stream for salmon habitat with resting pools that
will run through the Alderbrook property. Visit
